QoS (Quality of Service)

This makes it easy for the the network provider to improve selected network traffic packets. ie. VoIP packets would get priority over the rest of your network traffic.

QoS can be done in both software and hardware, but having QoS in your modem is best, most ADSL2+ modems have QoS.
